On December 22, 2012 the local hip-hop community in Austin Texas came together to give back to the children for this holiday season. The LOEGz in association with Blue Santa, LNS Crew, Amanda Thomas, Poverty Island Ent., and Monsta Ent. along with many others in the local line up all met at the Austin Recreation Center where they had several fun activities for the kids to enjoy and collected toys and canned food items for those in need this time of the year.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this possible definitely looking forward to doing more events like this in the future.

 Coming out of Austin, TX, known as “The Live Music Capitol Of The World,” and having already performed at major festivals like SXSW and A3C, the LNS Crew is determined to make their mark felt in the hip-hop scene. Comparable to golden age urban Southern posses like The Dungeon Family or the Screwed Up Click as well as modern powerhouses such as Black Hippy or G.O.O.D Music, their cross between modern, electronic hiphop and old school R&B lends themselves to the modern music landscape where influences from all over the spectrum mesh in the thick Texas heat in which the four main members were raised: Kydd, the native Austinite icon moving to the bright lights in New York. Cory Kendrix, the Oregon-born emcee/singer-songwriter who is renowned for his versatile style. Tank, the elder statesman who graduated from the streets to the booth. Deezie Fresh, the freshman from Bastrop who is influenced by gold chains, vintage clothing and old school hoop tapes. 

Just by themselves, these artists have already torn down stages and dropped classics —put them together on one CD as The LNS Crew and you would swear you were on to something legendary. Pour up a Sprite (mixed with whatever you want) and spark a Sweet as the LNS Crew continue their rampage with a new compilation album that show off their range and versatility. This tape is sure to be a great introduction to the LNS Crew for first-time listeners and even has some unreleased tracks to please the diehard fanatics. The LNS Crew album will serve as a taster until Kydd, Cory, Tank and Deezie drop their respective projects in the next few months.

2012 A3C HIP HOP FESTIVAL [NEWS]

The LNS Crew's journey to the A3C music conference and festival began in their hometown of Austin, where they began the 16+ hour journey.  After making a brief stop in New Orleans, where they ate some po'boys and hit the slot machines at the Harrahs Casino & Hotel for a few hours, they landed in Atlanta Thursday afternoon.  On Thursday night, they checked out the vaunted "Straight Outta Texas" showcase to show support for their fellow Texans. Put on by former SXSW head hiphop honcho Matt Sonzala, the Texas showcase had some of the biggest names in Texas hiphop, with rising stars Doughbeezy and A.Dd+ (as well as Austin's own LOEGz) alongside Houston legends such as Killa Kyleon and Lil Keke. After some late-night dining at The Majestic, they hit the hay to get ready for their own showcase at the Red Bull Soundstage, where Slum Village and The Liknuts (Alkaholiks + Beatnuts) were headlining. Friday night, the beautiful Martina McFlyy set the mood with some hiphop jams before Doughbeezy kicked it off with an energetic opening set. Soon after that, the LNS Crew hit the stage for an epic twenty minute performance, after which San Antonio representer and LNS affiliate Worldwide turned up for Atlanta and shut it down. Slum Village and The Liknuts gave epic performances, and after hitting Gladys Knight's famous restaurant for some late night chicken, the LNS Crew took the next day off to go hit the town and check out the local scene. The trip to Atlanta was a success, and they will definitely be back soon.

"Kydd Jones wasted no time following up this spring's The Sounds in My Head, Pt. 2 mixtape, releasing The Righteous LP with guest spots from longtime Kanye West affiliate GLC, Dallas duo A.Dd+, San Antonio's Worldwide, and a slew of local talent. Tracks like "Russian Roulette," "The Masons," and "Too Thoed," which samples James Blake's bedroom dubstep, demonstrate that Jones has found his artistic forte: "Nice & Slow," "Texas Heat." LNS Crewmember and regular Kydd Jones collaborator Cory Kendrix continues with the nice and easy on his DJ Wes Sanders-assisted Free Beer, a 32-track marathon of a mixtape that's just as much about "Late Night Lovin'" as it is about "Burnin' Trees." That's not to say the 23-year-old's second effort is too slow. 2012 SOUNDS IN MY HEAD 2 [MIXTAPE]

 

Less than six months after his last release, "Sounds In My Head 2" (which featured Yelawolf, Pac Div, and Skyzoo among others), Kydd is back with another classic album. Before his move to New York, the native Austinite has dropped "The Righteous LP" for the summer in an
effort to emphasize his Southern roots. Kydd's new project, which

recently received a write-up from Mishka, features Chicago's GLC, Two8ight (Stunnaman) of the Bay Area, Western Tink, San Antonio's Worldwide, A.Dd+ of Dallas, and the LNS Crew (Max Frost, Tank, Cory Kendrix and Deezie Fresh).

Tracks like "The Masons" and "Russian Roulette" will keep hiphop heads on edge and won't give them a chance to leave the coffee table without hitting rewind. With most of the tracks being self-produced, this is another well-put together LP from the Austin MC as Kydd gives you a tour of the mindstate of a true Southerner.
